TAP grants available for clean energy technologies
Jun 25, 2024
There’s good news for industrial facilities or large energy users looking to explore onsite clean energy technologies in Hawaii. The Western region of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), in collaboration with its partnership intermediary, ENERGYWERX, has reopened funding opportunities. Small and medium-sized manufacturing firms are encouraged to apply for grants of up to $300,000 per funding round, with a 50 percent cost share. These grants are provided through the Onsite Energy Technical Assistance Partnership (TAP).
The TAP grants are designed to implement recommendations from Industrial Assessment Centers (IAC) assessments and U.S. DOE Combined Heat and Power Technical Assistance Partnership (CHP TAP) assessments, including Onsite Energy TAP assessments. Previously submitted assessments that qualify as IAC-equivalent can also be considered.
TAP for the Western region is operated by Optony, which helps industrial and large energy users transition to onsite clean energy, lower costs, reduce emissions, and contribute to a clean energy economy. They screen sites for opportunities and help craft onsite energy strategies to maximize economic impact, reduce risk, and minimize operations and maintenance costs.
