Local TV program brings Hawaii’s food security and agriculture into focus

Olelo Community Media’s award-winning community-service TV series “Island Focus” recently gathered a panel for an episode spotlighting multiple subjects related to food security and sustainability in Hawaii.
Discussions on the episode, hosted by Lyla Berg, covered issues ranging from agriculture-related water allocation, land zoning and diversification, to funding support for local agriculture. Panel participants were Nicole Galase, managing director of the Hawaii Cattlemen’s Council; Dr. Kamanamaikalani Beamer, Hui Aina Momona professor for the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s Kamakakuokalani Center for Hawaiian Studies; and Jesse Cooke, vice president of investments and analytics for Ulupono Initiative.
